Deleting a Hazard Classification

Note: This feature is available only to administrators.

Delete a hazard classification when it is no longer needed to record or label product hazards. When you delete a classification, its items are automatically removed from any products where they are currently assigned.

Note: You can delete a hazard classification only if it was created by a user in your system. Any classifications supplied by IHS cannot be deleted by users.

To delete a hazard classification:

Starting at the Hazard Classifications page (How do I get there?), do the following:

  1. Click the classification you want to delete.

The classification's items are shown below its name.

  2. In the box on the left, click Delete.

    A message asks for confirmation.

Note: If the Delete link is not clickable, you have selected an IHS-supplied classification. You cannot delete these classifications.

  3. Click OK to confirm.

The classification is deleted. Its items are automatically removed from the Hazard Information display of each product where they are currently assigned.
